What CullBit does
CullBit is a photo selection app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It lets you open a card, drive or folder of photos, rate and reject them, and process your selection, all on your device and without an internet connection. Buying or restoring CullBit Pro needs an internet connection to the App Store.
Data on your device
CullBit has no account and includes no advertising, analytics or error-reporting services. It does not send your photos, ratings or app activity to us or to any third party.
To provide its features, CullBit stores previews, ratings, settings and session data on your device.
CullBit does not collect crash reports or usage data itself. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics under its own Privacy Policy. We use them only to find and fix problems in CullBit.
Permissions
CullBit reads only the files and folders you choose in the system file picker. If you export to your Photos library, CullBit asks for permission to add photos to it. That permission only lets the app save the photos you export; it does not let CullBit see the rest of your library. If iCloud Photos is on, Apple syncs the exported photos like any other photo in your library. If the files or folders you choose are stored in iCloud Drive or another cloud service, that service syncs the changes CullBit makes there under its own terms.
You can allow or revoke these permissions at any time in Settings on iPhone and iPad, or in System Settings on Mac. The features that need them then stop working, and the rest of the app keeps working.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases under its own Privacy Policy. We do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment card details; Apple gives us only sales reports that do not identify you.
CullBit Pro is a one-time purchase. The app only asks Apple whether Pro has been bought, so it can unlock it on your devices.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party content. Like most web hosts, its hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. They are kept only as long as the hosting provider needs them for security and operation, and are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and we do not use them to identify you.
Because neither CullBit nor this website tracks you across sites or services, they do not respond differently to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.
Retention and deletion
Data that CullBit stores on your device stays there until you clear it in the app or delete the app. On a Mac, deleting the app may leave its data in ~/Library/Containers until you remove that folder. Backups of your device, such as iCloud Backup or Time Machine, may keep copies, which you control. Files you save or export outside the app stay where you put them until you delete them.
Security and limitations
No software or storage system can guarantee complete security or prevent every loss of data. CullBit is provided without guarantees of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This does not reduce any commitment in this policy about how we handle your information. Nothing in this policy limits any right or obligation that cannot be limited under applicable law.
When you confirm a file operation, CullBit can write XMP sidecars, move or export rated photos, and move or delete rejects. Review the planned changes before confirming and keep your own backups; we cannot recover files from your device.
Children
CullBit is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Data that CullBit keeps on your device is under your control: we cannot see, export or delete it, and you can delete it at any time as described above. For personal information we hold, such as support emails, you may, depending on applicable law, ask us for access, correction, deletion or a portable copy, or object to or restrict its use, by emailing the address below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information.
Updates and contact
We are the seller named on CullBit’s App Store page, and we are responsible for personal information under this policy.
If you email support, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments. We use them only to answer your request, which is in your interest and ours (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and keep them only as long as needed to resolve your request and any follow-up, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Support emails are stored by our email provider, and this website is served by our hosting provider. They process this data for us and may do so outside your country; where the law requires it, such transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may update this policy when the app or its services change. When we do, we change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The version published on this page replaces earlier versions.
